About me

Hi, I’m Monica — the artist behind Dark Autumn Studio. I create nature-inspired blackwork and fine-line tattoos, alongside digital art that invite you to reconnect with your inner world and express yourself, boldly and gently.

My journey into tattooing began 3 years ago, after almost a decade of working in tattoo shops as a designer and manager, with a deep love for drawing and a desire to create something meaningful — not just for myself, but for others. Alongside my artistic path, I’ve also earned a Master’s in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health, which deeply informs the way I hold space for clients and approach my creative work. I understand how powerful it can be to be seen, to feel safe, and to mark meaningful transitions through art. Over time, I discovered that both tattooing and drawing, especially the repetitive act of patterning, became a form of meditation for me — a way to slow down, quiet the noise, and return to the present moment.

This connection between art and mindfulness is at the heart of everything I do. Whether it's the flow of ink on paper or the steady rhythm of a tattoo needle, I believe in the healing power of small rituals — and in the beauty of turning them into something you can carry with you.

My tattoo style is calm, elegant, and earthy — rooted in natural forms, subtle symbolism, and a love for simplicity. I work mostly in black ink, focusing on fine lines, bold shapes, and designs that feel both timeless and personal.

Whether you're coming in for a tattoo or browsing my digital creations — printable art, mindfulness workbooks, or brush packs — my mission is the same: to offer you a space where you feel safe, seen, and inspired to express who you truly are.
