About

I’m Monica, a nature-inspired tattoo artist and illustrator based in Munich, Germany. I specialize in blackwork and fine line tattoos of florals, foliage, and ornaments. My signature style brings together the boldness of dark elements with the gentle transparency of fine dots and shading, balanced with delicate linework. Through this blend, I aim to represent both sides of our inner worlds: strength, and also softness and vulnerability.

My perspective on tattooing is to create, translate, and immortalize each client’s unique situation, emotional state, or life event into a piece that captures their healing and self-discovery. I see every tattoo as a token, a seal of an important chapter, crafted through foliage, ornaments, or deeply meaningful objects that matter to each person.I

My journey into tattooing began in 2022, but it was shaped by nearly a decade spent working in tattoo shops as a designer and manager. Surrounded by creativity, I drew, designed, and supported fellow artists, quietly learning the craft by observing hands in motion, mastering techniques, and helping set up machines. I didn’t trust myself to take the leap right away, but when the moment was right, it all came together. What seemed like a sudden start was really years of preparation. I’ve always been driven by a love of drawing and a wish to create meaningful art for myself and others. Embracing tattooing felt like finding my true calling.

My background in neuroscience and psychology connects deeply to tattooing. While working on my Master’s dissertation, I focused on why people get tattoos. Researching this topic opened my eyes to the deeper motivations behind body art: healing, self-expression, and reclaiming one’s body surfaced again and again. Tattoos, I discovered, are much more than decoration. They’re woven into our identities, our stories, and our journeys through life.

My aim is for each tattoo to become an art piece that holds deep personal meaning. I guide my clients through a collaborative process, offering a safe space and an attentive ear to truly understand their stories and intentions. Together, we create tattoos that are more than visual art: they reflect each person’s authentic self and mark a meaningful moment in their journey.

For me personally, both tattooing and drawing, especially the repetitive act of creating patterns, leaves and floral elements, have become a form of meditation. These practices help me slow down, quiet the noise, and return to the present moment. The collaborative process and intentional listening in my work bring me fulfillment and a strong sense of purpose, as I help others honor and express their stories.
